Matchy Matchy!

I got the opportunity to make a matchy brother /sister set for kids other than my own! :)
I had a blast!
As I mentioned earlier.. in another psot somewheres.. I am not tooo keen on boy sewing. Not that I dont like boy duds.. because I do! It is just easier to sew for girls and I like to sew ruffles.
I have never been a girly girl and I think I surpressed it a bit too long and a bit too hard.. it has manifested into this girly sewing frenzy that is out of control!
;)
Here is what I made for D and J's photoshoot with the talented Karie of Grateful memories Photography!
Enjoy!

Dainty in Damask

Olabelhe
Your guess is as good as mine
I like this patter by them, though! It's the Natalie dress.
SO pretty.
I made this one for my daughter to wear to my brothers wedding, this May.
I have LOTS more to sew for this even.. including MY dress!
Wish me luck!
Here is Dolly's!

This is why I wanted the ruffled leggings, they allow her to play all while looking cute and staying modest! Win Win!
She is making it clear that she is ALL DONE with pictures.. twice in one day was good for her!

Thanks for looking!

Ruffles of LOVE!

I love Ruffles.
Ruffles LOVE Iris.
These really speak for themselves.
The only thing I need to share is that the fabric is butter soft and these will easily stretch between two or three sizes.
I am buying ruffle fabric in every color.  Holy moly.

She takes great photo's, hey! Or maybe I am just Bias.. LOVE that face

CUTE!!
The leggings are somewhat "see through" so they need to be worn under a dress or a tunic. We had the PERFECT one int he closet! She LOVES the outfit too.. so WiN wIn! Iris is usually a stubborn little lady and refuses to wear stuff that I make. Yeah... that has started already. Cant wait till she is 16!
For now it will be ruffle leggings and tunics!

Knit Fit

Yes.. I sew so much that I can post TwIce a DaY!

I didn't actually make these today. I assembled them in sections over a course of two days and finished them a day or so ago.
These are just the begining of what I plan to make for this years stash for the craft shows.
Our first official show is on April 3rd and I am not prepared, not in the least bit.
Yikes.
I have lots of ideas.. more ideas than time.
I did manage to rock out 6 pairs of knit, ruffled trousers with pockets!
I completed them with an UlTrA comfortable, Yoga style waistband.
I am planning to make some matchy appliques to go along with these, like I did for the other ruffled trousers.
Check them out and tell me what you think!

A Monster of a Hoodie

A few weeks ago I held a photo contest on my Facebook Page . One contest for the little ladies and another for the dudes!
Super fun!
Riley won the girls contest and I made her this dress (Pattern is Mod Kids Frida) with fabrics from Amy Butlers "Daisy Chain" collection.
I wish I would have gotten more pictures of this cute little thing.. but I was in a rush to ship it out. Next time :)
I also put together a Monster Hoodie for the boysCheesiest Smile winner, Mason! Congrats Dude!
This hoodie took me a bit to put together because my mind was drawing blanks as far as a design that was age appropriate, it allowed me to move into sewing for the 7 year old boy and I am glad it did! I get stuck in sewing for girls and LOVED the change of pace.  This was a challenge but FUN to make. I hope he enjoys it!

Hoping to get action shots of this! {wink wink margaret}

Making your addictions work for you...

I tend to find things I love and become "addicted" to them.
Things that give me little rushes of JoY.

One of those things I ~LOVE~ is cothing.. I love love love clothing.
Another LoVe is thrifting. That love makes me SqEaL inside when I get the chance to hit up a thrift store.
And yet another LoVe is recycling! Turning the "waste" into useful items.. especially when there are kids involved.

I mish mashed those three loves together and came up with this...

A Girly Twirl dress.. this one is mde entirely of old shirts! This is one of my favorties because of the rainbow twirl <3

I also have a massive MINOR addiction to fabric.. and that allowed me to create these

Loungers, made from a mix of old T-shirts and fabric scraps!

as well as these...

Hoodlums, adult sized t-shirts upcycled to make pint sized tee's

Fun, RiGhT!!!

All the names are in the process of being trademarked.. What a workout that is!

Anyways.. not only is it tremendous FUN  to go out and find all these shirts and upcycle them into one of a kind duds.. it's crazy rewarding too.

I am in the process of creating a Custom DuDs order book, full of pictures of the shirts I have found that are just too cool to cut and make into just "anything". These shirts need specific owners and I cant wait to see what others want me to create with them!

Here is an example of a few of my favorites

Those should be FUN to make new!

As always, Thanks for reading!

Late Night Lady

I stayed up late last night to "catch up" on some sewing. I have a {highly anticipated} Craft show on April 3rd and practically nothing to stock my booth with!
I was planning on staying up until 4 a.m but only lasted untill 2 when I realized that staying up any later would be counter productive.. I would have had to spend the day today ripping seams..
I managed to get 3 more pairs of Ruffled Trousers done as well as 3 flag banners for a friends craft booth!
I also got my butt in gear with a Monster hoodie for the handsome little man who won my Facebook contest.

These are the Ruffled Trousers that I managed to finish up.
I LOVE how they are turning out! Easy to put together and they look FUN to wear!

The first pair was supposed to be for my daughter, Iris.
Untill I realized how many clothes she as.... they are for sale now.. lol

The next two were made from a Michael Miller fabric that I scored from a girl I went to High School with! She had a TON of fabulous fabrics that she sold me for a steal!

And the fabulous ~but HARD to photograph~ Flag banners for a friends booth.. I need to get me a few of these made!

They were SoOper simple and I think I might post a tutorial on how to make them!

Thanks for reading! Hope you had a fabulous weekend :)
